A Year in the Life of Figment: Our Highlights of 2018
December 3rd 2018 | By Emma Levy
What a year 2018 has been for Team Figment! A host of amazing Google results achieved for our clients; a selection of websites re-designed with fantastic outcomes – including our own! And the opportunity to attend and talk at some incredible events. Here we share with you month by month our best highlights of 2018…
January – Top Google Rankings in a Competitive Market
ZedCarZ is a private hire minicab service. It’s an incredibly competitive market where a strong online presence is crucial to the success of the business. Local SEO is the way to land those vital top spots in Google, and in January this year we achieved #1 rankings for a host of local search results. The result is an enhanced online reputation and major competitive advantage.
February – More Google Number Ones
Come February our local SEO strategies were proving even more successful as we achieved a number of coveted top spot results in local SEO rankings for Kingston based blind company Albo Blinds & Shutters.
May – Lift-off for GDPR
Getting our clients and ourselves digital-marketing-ready for the new data protection legislation that was introduced on 26th May 2018 was quite a task, but we did it, and well on time to ensure everyone was compliant. Our series of blogs on data processing and digital marketing and consent formed part of our campaign.
June – Website Re-Design for Eye Care Specialist
Kingston based Horrocks & Boyd is a long-established independent eye care and eyewear specialist. Their aim to provide customers with a world-class experience of primary eye care meant a professional and caring approach and a reassuringly straightforward user experience was extremely important. Here’s the site.
August – New Website for Figment
August saw the launch of the new Figment website. Re-energised and re-imagined, the new site is based on the latest trends and coding practices. A freshly laid out navigation makes it easier to find the services and information that are important, and an enhanced content structure makes it possible to learn more in less time.
August – Updated Website for Nationwide Office Furniture Supplier
Tag Office is a nationwide supplier of quality office furniture. Their existing website was in need of a re-design to make it mobile friendly, to help enhance the user experience and reduce the organic bounce rate. Job done: and success! The bounce rate was reduced by 15% per cent. Here’s the new site.
August – WordCamp Brighton
As specialist WordPress website developers, it’s great for us to get together with other people who love, use and develop WordPress. WordCamp Brighton was just one of many worldwide meet-ups where we got to congregate with WordPress fans and share ideas, inspiration and challenges. Plus we got to spend a weekend on the south coast. What could be better?!
October – Brighton SEO
Clearly we’re loving Brighton, and so is digital marketing! Brighton SEO is held twice yearly. It’s a huge search marketing conference, incorporating training from the industry’s biggest experts; vital to keep our skills and knowledge right on form.
The keynote speaker was Rand Fishkin, CEO and co-founder of SEOmoz, a leader in the field of search engine optimisation tools, resources & community. His talk was on SEO in 2019, revolving around the subject of achieving Google Position Zero and voice search. We learnt a great deal from this conference; amazing gems that we have already started to apply to our clients’ SEO campaigns.
November – WordCamp Manchester
Another month, another WordCamp! This one took place in Manchester and this time we were invited to deliver a lightning talk: ‘Six Reasons why You’ll Love Google Data Studio’.
November – Website Re-Design for My Data Protection
The Data Protection Franchise Company was set up to expand through franchising an already successful business model which already helps many small to medium-sized enterprises UK-wide to meet their GDPR compliance requirements.
We designed a bespoke, responsive website for the organisation, allowing it to reach out to new franchisees with its compelling offering.
