Rebooting for Success with a Tailored Two Phase Strategy
PC Docs has been providing a trusted IT support service across London and Hertfordshire for almost two decades. But with business growth on the agenda, managing director John Menicou recognised it was time to start setting clear objectives for attracting more leads, and increasing the client base. And that’s when he approached Figment.
For our team, a strong challenge lay ahead in the form of competitive keywords for the IT support industry. We were also tasked with working to a limited budget. So our strategy would need to make steady progress over time, ensuring we hit the client’s primary goal of generating relevant leads that were ripe for conversion.
Our strategy was planned across two stages. Firstly, we had to ensure the existing website had the necessary foundations to support our SEO campaign. So we worked closely with John’s team to fix the flaws we’d identified during our research phase, making sure there was nothing to prevent the site from ranking. Page speed optimised and technical perfections made, we were ready for the next stage.
Improving Google Rankings… Bit by Bit
Relevant leads were what PC Docs wanted, so careful targeting was a must. A key part of our strategy included creating location landing pages, targeting areas of London and Hertfordshire that we identified as good potential for new PC Docs clients. Landing pages are great for local SEO, driving qualified leads with top conversion rates. Meantime, our monthly blogs showcased a wider range of services, and case studies demonstrated the company’s authority and expertise.
A back linking campaign, citation clean-up and building and a range of on-page SEO tactics supported the content marketing strategy.
The results of our efforts said it all. Google rankings grew significantly, with PC Docs appearing on Google Page One for 100 keywords, and commanding 51 spots in Google’s top 3.
Later, when the company re-designed their website, it was down to us to work closely with their developers to mitigate the risk of dropping the rankings that we’d worked hard to build. Our intervention paid off, and the new website didn’t just maintain its rankings, but actually outperformed the previous one.
