  • Set a timer to 25 minutes.
  • When the timer ends, take a 5-minute break.
  • Repeat this cycle for 4-5 rounds or Pomodoros.
  • Take a 15-minute break after the 4th or 5th round.
  • Repeat the process.

Do not multitask

It might be tempting to catch-up on your home chores, but do not do it. Multitasking often leads to less focus and dip in productivity. Plus you won’t be folding laundry while finishing your report at work, so why do it when working from home?

Communication is key

Key to successful remote work is communication. Tell everyone who needs to know about your schedule and availability. Mention when you finish a project or an important task. If you have regular communication channels be active on them.

Manage expectations

Communicate clearly with your manager about priorities, the time required and how tasks will be done. This helps to manage expectations and results. Be honest about what isn’t working or can’t get done.
